The Sweetest Words of Winter: Snow Day
Sit still, close your eyes. Now picture these two words: Snow. Day. Between you and me, there’s only one word to follow those two: Eek! Keep that eek between us. I’m not really one to share that word out loud.
Snow days are those rare days in winter when we get an unexpected day off, and you know what to do when there’s snow on the ground and no school or work, right? Hit the mountains, of course! But not every day is a snow day, unfortunately. So what to do when there’s no snow, but you want a snow day? Hit the Intel AppUp® center for these three great apps:
The free app Snowboard gets you ready to shred. Use the mouse to steer through the course and grab packs for health, and flags for points. In my head, I believe I’m a pro snowboarder, but my bruises and bumps tell a different story. This app lets me live the life of the pro with jumps and ramps while daydreaming of a day out on the slopes.
There’s nothing wrong with a little armchair travel, especially when the weather won’t cooperate. Use TripAdvisor to plan your next trip to the snow. Or if you’ve had enough of the cold, plan your escape somewhere tropical. This free app allows you to browse more than 40 million reviews of hotels, restaurants, attractions, vacation rentals and destinations. You can check out photos from fellow travelers and add your own thoughts.
Is a snow day in your future? Of course it is! You just need to know when. The free app Accuweather will tell you with its detailed current conditions, 15-day forecast, hourly weather details, and exclusive lifestyle forecasts. This one is great for planning your snow day or planning your getaway to a sun and beach day.
