Spring Apps to Celebrate The Sun
There have been a few days of sun here in Portland and you know what that means? If you guessed a bunch of people wearing shorts and getting sunburns and despite all of that sunshine the people in shorts are feeling pretty cold because hey, it’s Portland, then you are right. If you also guessed, spring has started. You are right too. (All of the vitamin D is making me generous.)
To celebrate the glorious sunshine and all of the flowers in bloom and the general goodness of humanity (thank you vitamin D) we’ve gathered up the best spring apps in one place for easy spring fun.
If you’re getting ready to hide some Easter eggs, be sure to hide some digital eggs too with the East Egg Hunt app. You need to solve riddles to find each egg so get your thinking cap on.
This app is perfect for the amateur (or pro) ornithologist. It has more than two hours of audio bird songs and calls from the Macaulay Library at the Lab of Ornithology. You know those birds are out there. It’s up to you to spot ‘em.
I don’t have a green thumb. I’ve got a withering and dying on the vine thumb. But that doesn’t stop me from admiring people who have green thumbs. I’ve been checking out the free app Vital Almanac. It’s all about using moon cycles to help grow plants. I’m starting to see that I’ve been wrong about this sun thing all along.
How are you celebrating spring? Cleaning? Gardening? Soaking up the sun? Maybe add downloading some apps to that list.
