Great app !
Always a pleasure to discover the richness of our world !
The United Nations declared 2011 as the International Year of Forests. Thanks to GoodPlanet, which is chaired by Yann Arthus-Bertrand, you can discover the most beautiful photos of forests from around the world and read up-to-date information on the ecosystems that produce the water we drink and the air we breathe.
For this occasion, the GoodPlanet Foundation created free educational posters for every school in France (which can be downloaded in multiple languages with this application), a book (from which many extracts in this application are drawn), and a photography exhibit that was shown from Paris to Moscow and Geneva (some of these photos can be seen in this application). You can also read the latest planet-related news with regular updates on forests throughout the world.
The GoodPlanet Foundation also carries out various concrete activities in developing countries through its Action Carbone program, whose projects include a multi-annual effort to protect 510,000 hectares of forest in Madagascar.
The destruction of forests is not inevitable: throughout the world, men and women are fighting to save them. Private citizens, scientists, politicians and business leaders are warning us about the threats faced by forests and suggesting new ways to protect them. This year is also the occasion to celebrate their initiatives and efforts. It is an invitation to put into practice the following words from the Turkish poet Nazim Hikmet: "To live! Like a tree alone and free. Like a forest in brotherhood."

des photos superbes. merci.
magnifique application, superbes photos
What a wonderful way to renew my view of our world and see others are looking and keeping watch over our treasures as well. WWF & NWF are close to my heart and seeing them mentioned was wonderful. Awesome app and not because they are mentioned but because it's beautiful, informative, and I will learn a lot while enjoying it at the same time. Thanks for this! I'd have gladly paid for it!
