"Edumatter M12-L" Light edition, Version 8.1.3. has been released on Nov-14-2012. Compared to the previous version 8.1.1, it contains minor styling and other aesthetic enhancements. This software belongs to ‘Edumatter M” product line, which is optimized for Microsoft Windows™ 7/8 and can run on any desktop PC, or mobile platforms such as Notebooks, Netbooks, Tablets, Ultrabooks™: the latter provide the best User Experience due to low-latency and high-responsiveness achieved by utilizing the computational power of modern multi-core CPU (like i3/i5/i7) in parallel-mode algorithms and very high data rate provided by novel SSD.
Application is backward compatible with previous versions of Microsoft Windows (Vista/XP), though it could require certain .NET framework components to be installed on User’s computer prior to this software installation.
Speech-enhanced User Interface implements TTS (Text-to-Speech) features providing Voice instructions to User. TTS requires speaker/sound card to be installed on User’s computer; this feature is optional and can be turned On/Off without affecting any core functionality. Application allows both standard PC mouse/keyboard and also touch-screen mode operations.

Also, some features implemented in this application may not work properly in previous versions of OS: the recommended versions are Microsoft Windows 7 or 8.
The Light Edition (Edumatter M12-L) is distributed free of charge and DOES NOT require Product Key/Activation, but it has an expiration date set to 01/01/2014. It can operate totally autonomously without Internet connection. Other editions, namely Standard/Pro require Product Key/Activation and Internet connectivity.
