Call of Cthulhu: The Wasted Land is a turn-based strategy/role-playing game based on the award winning Call of Cthulhu RPG. Set in the midst of World War One, the game pits your team of investigators and soldiers against an ancient enemy, one older than humanity itself... Can your team of investigators keep their grip on sanity long enough to stop these diabolical plans? The fate of humanity is in your hands...

Developed in conjunction with Chaosium and based their multi-award winning Call of Cthulhu RPG. The game features:
- Full 3D graphics with high quality textures, images and effects to bring the action alive.
- Select from a range of authentic period weapons, equipment, armour, skills and more.
- Build your team up to match your gaming style; will you shred your foes with massed rifle fire or blast them with powerful spells gleaned from forbidden tomes? It's your choice!

Call of Cthulhu was originally the title of a novella by cult American horror writer H.P. Lovecraft (1890–1937) which has, since it was published in 1928, captured the imagination of generation after generation of fans. Returning to the horror from Lovecraft's original 'Reanimator' set during the dark days of WW1, Call of Cthulhu: The Wasted Land draws the player into a nightmare world where the terror of mustard gas and trench warfare are but a foretaste of what is to follow.

The Wasted Land is a superbly balanced game!

If there’s any justice in the world, Call of Cthulhu: The Wasted Land will be the start of a SRPG franchise that will rival Fire Emblem and Final Fantasy Tactics as a popular, commercially successful name. It oozes style, is amongst the best looking app games out there, and features a nuanced combat system that remains compelling through the entire game.

Worthy of the Cthulhu Name

Worth the money, buy now thanks me later. This is a great balance of the new and the old. Turn based, sanity shattering tactics with and oh so creepy world war 1 feel. Love Lovecraft? Love tactical games? If either answer yes i can recommend the game.

Game seems fine,it just has horrendous user interface

It is controlled by a mouse, supports single button, responds to the clicks and long-clicks only (wtf is long-click,you may wonder);ignoring the keyboard entirely(ESC?Never heard of it). Nothing happens when you move or point a mouse-no popup info,no map moving (map movement is especially painful as it's done by tiny little careful drags of the map - do something less gentle and entire map scrolls away, leaving you staring on the black screen). Game is not covering the whole screen, when running

Tech support couldn't get it working either. Error message says AppUp is corrupted or old. It's not, I've reinstalled. Other AppUp apps work fine.

Fun!

Hadn't tried the iPad version. Once figuring its a click and hold to take an action against an enemy, the game is pretty simple to manage. Not far in but game is really enjoyable, getting more fun with each level
